Autonomous non-profit organization scientific research center of information technologies in the museum «ITMUS»

Our center is engaged in research of advanced information technologies in the field of culture and preservation of cultural heritage. As part of these studies, we are engaged in the theoretical and practical development of interesting and promising technologies in the field of information technology in relation to the functions of the museum, and in practical terms, the introduction and use of new information technologies in museum activities, the development of research and experimental application of new technologies for conservation, documentation, popularization and increasing the accessibility of the world cultural heritage.
The activities of the center can be reduced to such priority areas of work as comprehensive documentation of cultural heritage objects using various digitization tools, development of means for the longest possible storage of cultural databases and digital twins of museum objects, development and implementation of new software and technical interaction interfaces for the presentation of digitized cultural heritage and analysis of the behavior and needs of visitors in the museum space.
The end result of the center's activities is: the development of methodological recommendations ready for use by museums of software and hardware systems, new approaches and methods. For this, interaction with museums and cultural organizations is expected to identify needs, test a particular technology in applied application in the space of museums, receive feedback to improve technologies and methods by employees and specialists of the center. Interaction between museums and educational centers is regulated by a model agreement on cooperation between organizations.
